Residential FAQ
What’s on my bill? Your quarterly bill will contain charges for three months of trash service, plus applicable taxes and fees. If you used any optional services for pickup of extra household trash, large items or on-call yard waste, these charges and applicable taxes/fees will also appear on your bill. Residential bills are mailed on the 20th of the month preceding your quarterly billing cycle and are due the 10th of the following month. When is payment due? We send out quarterly statements on the 20th of the month. Payments are due by the 10th of the following month. Interest will be charged for late payments. For more information see our Billing page. Do you collect yard waste? Yes. We will pick up bagged and bundled yard waste on your regular trash collection day. You must call us at 612-884-8008 to request yard waste pickup. Visit our Yard Waste page for details. Remember: Minnesota state law prohibits mixing yard waste or brush with your garbage. Are there restrictions on what I can put in my cart? Your cart is for regular household waste. Items you may not put in your cart include yard waste, appliances, TVs, monitors, ashes, batteries, concrete, oil, oil filters, railroad ties, tires, wet paint, solvents, hazardous materials or animal carcasses. Can I change the size of my trash cart? Aspen provides three levels of weekly trash service: 35, 65 and 95 gallons. Your first cart delivery is complimentary; there may be a $25 cart delivery fee thereafter. Call us if you’d like to change the size of your cart or order multiple carts. Ask us about multiple cart discounts. Can I use my own garbage container? Aspen provides well-designed, easy-to-use wheeled trash carts at no extra charge to you. Aspen’s carts are safer for you and our drivers. How do I take care of my cart? Your Aspen cart is yours to use but if it is lost or damaged there is a $40-$60 charge for a replacement cart. During the week, keep your cart in a protected area to prevent theft or damage. You can apply pepper spray to your cart to help repel unwanted animals that are causing damage. Cleaning: Mild detergents, such as liquid dishwashing detergent formulated to cut grease on plastic, are most effective. Never put hot coals or burning objects in your cart. Does Aspen pickup items to be recycled? Aspen offers single sort residential recycling pickup in the cities of Bloomington and Richfield. In other cities recycling may be contracted through city offices. Contact the city in which you live for information about recycling pickup services. What to do if I’m moving or ending service? Please call Aspen two weeks prior to your last scheduled pickup to cancel your Aspen collection service or to request a final pickup. If moving, Aspen needs your forwarding address and telephone number. Aspen does not refund partial month changes. If you have additional items or need extra service, we can take care of that for you. Please call 612-884-8008 for an estimate. If you have other questions about our service, we are happy to help. Please call us at 612-884-8008. |
